International acts for Victoria’s ALWAYS LIVE music event featuring Christina Aguilera, Eric Prydz, and Jessie Ware have been announced.
As part of Victoria’s ALWAYS LIVE program, Grammy-winning singer Christina Aguilera will perform live in Melbourne in a special one-off show.
The Andrews government promoted its support for the initiative on Tuesday by announcing Aguilera as one of the international performers headlining the music festival.
A singer with greatest hits like ‘Genie in a Bottle’, ‘Beautiful,’ and ‘Dirrty’, will be performing on Saturday, November 25 in an open-air show at Flemington Racecourse.
For the first time in 15 years, the global superstar will be performing in Australia with ‘One Night Only With Christina Aguilera.’
Along with her, Swedish DJ and Producer Eric Prydz and English singer Jessie Ware will be performing as part of the opening weekend of Always LIVE.
Prydz’s 3D visual performance, HOLO, will take place at Rod Laver Arena on an unspecified date, and Ware will perform multiple times.
On Thursday, November 30, at Federation Square’s Victoria by Farmer’s Daughters Restaurants, ‘An Intimate Audience With Jessie Ware.’
As a part of the outdoor music festival Summer Camp on Saturday, December 2, Ware will be performing with drag superstar Trixie Mattel.
Between November 24 and December 10, more than 165 artists would be participating in a total of more than 60 events that would be spread across Melbourne and regional Victoria.
Artists lined up would include Peter Garrett and his band The Alter Egos, Budjerah, Amyl and the Sniffers, KAIIT, Tones and I, The Cat Empire, The Veronicas, The Pierce Brothers, and Dumb Punts.
With a backup of $20 million in the most recent Victoria budget, the Andrews government said that the ALWAYS LIVE program would “continue to secure the biggest international and local acts across the state.”
Premier Daniel Andrews stated that the benefits of hosting ALWAYS LIVE are greater compared to the 2026 Commonwealth Games in Victoria, which were canceled last month. The musical event would provide a much-needed economic boost to the country.
“Last year… there was about $80 million worth of economic benefit that came from investment that was closer to $13 million, so in any terms, I think that’s a fantastic return on investment,” Mr. Andrews stated.
“Part of this is measurable, and some of it isn’t, but the magic of this is that over a long period of time and because of a lot of hard work, we do this better than any other part of our nation.”
“The real key to success is celebrating, and amplifying, and sharing the things you do really well because so much of the kind of flagfall cost is already there. We’ve got this great gift, and we have to share it with as many people as possible.”
